Editor options

Post by jester »

I have looked for help on this (OK, so I'm not a patient person & may have missed it) & can't find anything to tell me what "create smart" actually means, under editor options->general->document display mode.

A simple explanation would be appreciated. Thank you.

As the name suggests the Create Smart option attempts to be smart about the way the windows are created ;)

How it works is when a window is closed, it's size and location are saved to a stack of sizes. When a new window is opened the size of the window takes on the value currently at the top of this stack of sizes.

Cheers Jussi

PS: As you have seen the Zeus help file is sometimes incomplete or possibly confusing. So when you next run into a shortcoming of the help I would recommend just posting another question to this forum.

So, it is more of a "memory" thing than how it treats multiple windows?

I typically have a number of windows open at once & don't like them to get "lost". I was looking for a setting that might keep it from opening each new window smaller than the one before. Guess this isn't the option.

Thanks for the help.[/quote]

Exactly :)

Unfortunately Zeus does not have such an option :(

The only suggestion I can offer is maybe using the Files Panel of the Navigator dialog. This panel list all the currently open windows so while it will not stop the window getting lost, you use the panel to easily navigate back to the lost window.
