After installing the latest version of Zeus on my pc my registration (an upgrade registration purchased in Feb 2007) is showing up as being expired, and the trial period has also expired.

From your announcement of zeus 3.97e you mentioned that registrations prior to 2007 would need to upgrade, does that include 2007 as well, or as my registration was at the beginning of 2007 is it included in the required to upgrade too.

Is the upgrade pricing of $50 correct as it's twice what I paid for the last upgrade.

I suspect that is because it is reading your previous key. To test this theory, rename this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xidicone\Zeus\Registration
to something like this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xidicone\Zeus\Registration-old
This should hopefully result in the Zeus 3.97e reverting to 45 day trial mode.

As per the announcement page, the last paid upgrade dates back to the 3.96 version which was released on the 19th January 2007. This is the same vintage as the upgrade key that you purchased.

Since then, all these free patches (i.e. free upgrades) where covered by that one license:

Zeus for Windows 3.96m Patch
Zeus for Windows 3.96n Patch
Zeus for Windows 3.96o Patch
Zeus for Windows 3.96p Patch
Zeus for Windows 3.96q Patch

That comes in at 24 free upgrades for the cost of one original 3.96 upgrade. This hardly seems excessive to me.

That price is correct.
