Patching instructions for Windows 7 state to run installer
but the files contained in the patch zip files do not contain any installer. So, what is the exact process please for Windows 7?
Also, shouldn't the installer be run as administrator in most cases?

As per the patch instructions: http://www.zeusedit.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight=
If you are running Vista or Windows 7 follow the instructions found here.

My point is still valid
The Windows7 and Vista detailed instructions say in the middle of the instructions to run the full installer after backing up and deleting but there is no installer in the patch. Does this mean download the evaluation version for 3.97C, run it, and then reenter the registration info?
All you need to do is follow the instruction found here: http://www.zeusedit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2719

So I answered my own question
The patching instructions for Windows 7 and Vista should say
a) First, download the latest Zeus version from zeusedit.com
b) Do all that backing up and folder removal stuff by hand
c) Run the installer
d) Verify version matches and that the registration info is still OK
That approach works.
Also, the basic patch instructions have some mismatched patch versions in the instructions. For example, the instructions for patch 3.97c reference version 3.97b. This is confusing.

Yes. Here is an example:
"
The latest Zeus for Windows 3.97b patch can be found here: http://www.zeusedit.com/z300/ze397c.zip
"
See what I mean? And these instructions never mention downloading the installer to patch Win7 and Vista.
This is no big deal, Jussi. Just a small typo.

Yes this is a small typo.Just a small typo.

That is because the 3.97c instructions are basically the same as the 3.97b instructions which are basically the same as the 3.97a which are basically the same as the 3.97 instructions. So what you are sesing is a copy and paste bug which has now been fixed

And these instructions never mention downloading the installer to patch Win7 and Vista.
The reason they don't say this is because there is no need to downoad the full installer and you shouldn't be doing so

What the instructions do say is the following:
INSTALLATION NOTES:
To install the patch do the following:
- Make a full backup copy of the current Zeus installation directory
- If you are running Vista or Windows 7 follow the instructions found here
