Hi Jussi
I reported a couple of bugs before with the editor window tabs, but now I believe I can give you a method to reproduce one of them. I have the option "automatically sort files on open" checked. However, as files open and close, the sort order gradually gets more and more corrupted.
I have the Document Display mode as Created Cascaded. I'm not sure if this is important.
With no windows opened, I open 3 files .cpp from the navigator in alphabetical order. Then I delete the 2nd file. Finally, I do a build which opens a Project make window. The project make window should be the 3rd window, but it is the 2nd window. With a large number of files and multiple make and tool windows opened, the tabs get more mixed up. My workaround is I'm regularly sorting manually from the document list window.
There are 2 other bugs which I'm hoping are related to this one.
Once the tabs get mixed up, attempting to drag some tabs to a new position doesn't work correctly. A tab other than the one I select moves. Sort from the document list dialog fixed this problem.
The final bug is probably more of a design issue than a bug. There seems to be an inconsistency between the tab ordering and the Z-order of the windows. Again the editor window must not be maximized to see this one. With a number of editor windows opened and the active window is NOT the last window in sort order, I open a new window which pops up on top of the old one. When I close this newly open window, I expect the previous window to become the active ( the next down in Z order) window. However, the next window in alphabetical order ( which may be very low in Z order) pops up instead. This is very annoying, more so than the other 2 bugs mentioned previously.
I forgot to mention, I'm using version 3.97.
Thanks!
Jack
