New install of ze32v396q runs very slow

Post by sfeldner »

I just installed a newly purchased upgrade to ze32v396q and EVERYTHING runs so very slow. From screen paints to mouse movements. The previous version I had, ze32r393d had no such problems. Has anyone seen this problem?

I have not noticed any change is speed and there have been no code changes that would have made things slower :?

What version of windows are you running :?:

When you upgraded from the older ze32r393d version did you do the usual copy over your old zConfig details upgrade step :?:

What might be causing the slow down is something in this upgrade step.

To test this theory I would suggest doing the following:
  1. Rename you current zeus to zeus-bad
  2. Run a full/clean install using the ze32r396q.exe setup program found here
  3. Use this clean installation for a while and see if it is also running slow
If the fresh install is not slow then something in the upgrade must be causing the problem.

You can now selectively copy files over the older zConfig details to see which part of the older configuration is causing the slowdown.

If this does not find the source of the problem you could also try going back in time by using the Zeus patches found here:

http://www.zeusedit.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=6

You could apply some of the older 3.96 patches straight over the top of this second installation to see if any of them fix the problem.

Not running slowly anymore

It must be the upgrade install. I installed from scratch and everything works fine. It must be something in my old config. (I didn't think it was Zues problem ;-)

I'm going to narrow it down now that I know which files to ncopy.

Thanks!
