Firstly, I apologise if this question has really simple answer but I've been trying to work out how to do this for ages and it's really annoying me.
What I want to do is group together a number of files into a "project" so that when I open the project, all these files are opened together. I don't need the files to be linked in anyway - it's just an organisation thing.
I think Zeus can do this but I can't work out how.
Can anyone take me through how to do it (I have tried the help and checked the boards but I still don't seem to be able to work it out).
Thanks
Edited to add that I am using version 3.95z.
How do I make a project
Hi Zoe,
It has been a while since I use Zeus Version 3.95z so this information is based on what I remember and might not be 100 % accurate
The first thing you need to do is make sure the Navigator panel is showing. There should be a Navigator display option on the View menu.
On the Navigator panel you should see a Workspace section.
Next you need to create a new a Workspace. On the Workspace menu there should be a New or Create option. You need to select this menu item.
In the resulting dialog you should have the option to give the workspace a name and then either create a New workspace or use the Workspace Builder option. For now just use the New option to create the workspace.
You should now see you newly created empty workspace displayed in the Workspace section of the Navigator panel. It will have the name that you supplied earlier.
From within the Workspace section of the Navigator panel use the mouse right click to bring up the popup menu and here you will find options to do things like add/delete projects to the workspace, add/delete files and folders to projects, etc etc.
One thing to remember, is that when you are adding and deleting from the Zeus workspace you are only effecting the Zeus workspace configuration file and not actually touching any of the files/folders on your hard disk, so it is very safe to experiment with these menu options.
You can think of the Zeus workspace as a collection of one or more projects and a project as a collection of one or more files and/or folders. It is purely a logical construct in that it it's structure may or may not have any relationship with how your physical files and folders are actually structured on your hard disk.
Next, in the Options, Editor Options menu, General section there should be an option to save the state of the editor against the workspace. What this means is when you open a workspaces, it will restore the last open files files at the same time.
Finally, the Workspace Builder option mentioned earlier will also create a workspace, but it provides a semi-automatic way of adding files to the projects and folders. I would suggest trying it out as well
I hope this information is accurate. If it is not, let me know and I will dig up a version or 3.95z just to refresh my memory.
Cheers Jussi
