Tags and COBOL (again)

Jussi, What do the TagsSearchWordCurrent1 through TagsSearchWordCurrent4 functions do? I'm looking for a way to run a tag search on a partial name. For instance, I have a tag name "AUXITEMR.cpy [EPAUXITEM.cbl]", and I'd like the search results for name = "AUXITEMR.cpy". I'm not sure if SQLite suppor...

A couple small problems

I've discovered a couple small problems w/ the file_open built-in macro function. It appears that in spite of returning a bool (which I assume indicates success) that the function just fails quietly when it thinks the specified file does not exist, but reports success. I say "it thinks", because the...

Thanks, Jussi. Should $ME work as I expect? I've used it in templates, but there the macro is actually writing to the open document, not returning anything. I'm assuming that the returned value will simply replace the $ME tag on the compile command line, just like any other macro tag. What should ha...

$ME macro tag

I'm confused about using $ME in a particular situation. I'd like to write a macro to extract compile switches from a text file and run that macro via $ME from the compile command line. The macro would simply return a string with the necessary compile command line switches. Use of $ME would cause the...

Hyperlinks

I'd like a way to define a hyperlink in a file such that I could write a macro to follow the link. Here's the scenario - in my code, I put references to bug reports, documentation files, Subversion revision numbers, or any other documents. These references are (or could be) tagged with a specific st...

Tags and COBOL

Jussi, I'd vote for extending the list of tag types that display, possibly making it configurable, instead of changing the mapping. The change you made would solve the immediate problem (as well as addressing one of my questions from yesterday). :) However, while reading your response to my function...

A Few Questions

1) In the class browser, things are almost always listed in alphabetical order. However, in a few cases, things are listed in reverse alphabetical order. I've only seen this when expanding a project file (i.e. level 3 of the tree, not level 2). Should they be in ascending order or is the order not s...

Testing Files

Jussi, I've sent some files via E-Mail. I set up a small workspace, added to programs/projects, and ran the tag rebuild. The tag files and the .ZBD are included. What I don't understand is the kind:paragraph handling. These show up under prototypes (I didn't bother relabeling them). When I expand pr...

COBOL and References

Jussi, Some time ago, we had a conversation about the references tag type, and how I thought it would be pretty useful, but we had no way to populate it. I've written a program that will produce tag records from the cross-reference data in a compile listing - I'll need to dust it off and tweak it a ...

COBOL Tags

Jussi, I thought I had replied to this, but I must not have posted it. Anyway, I think my issue is in the class browser, not the tagger. When I expand the workspace, I get expandable nodes for Records, File Descriptions, Variables, Sections, and Paragraphs, along with an expandable Project Files fol...

Tags and COBOL

Jussi, After having it turned off for a while when it looked like it might be giving me a problem, I've started using tags again, with COBOL. You may remember that you implemented some customized tag type mappings for COBOL some time ago. Anyway, I discovered that in the Classes window, when I drill...

Key Mapping Prefix Keys

Is the prefix key concept limited to Ctrl combinations? I was hoping to use function keys as a prefix to implement a small set of macros that mimic certain aspects of Brief-like windowing. No go? I guess this could be done with a macro bound to the function key that accepts a second character, and t...

I was wondering about that - the first couple times I changed I used Zeus but then went to Notepad. Maybe I just didn't hit it right the day before. On the internal error, I did shutdown Zeus and restart between each attempt, and it did it 3 times in a row. I'm not sure if it's my save macro or just...

Jussi, Whoops - spoke a little too soon. The macros are firing OK (per last post), but when I tried to compile a file that needed to be saved, I got an internal error. My live macro is hooked in to SavePostfix, and displays a status bar message on completion. I believe I saw it's message before the ...

I don't know what was wrong yesterday, but it's working now. I've got dummy macros plugged in for all the event except the 2 I'm using, so maybe it just likes to have all the names filled in.
