fast, stable and easy to embed and best of all I don't have to spend precious time trying to write and debug my own regex engine Oh, I quite agree. A broken regex would be an absolute nightmare to deal with. I tried to write one without any knowledge of what I was doing. It was a miserable failure....

Smart Indent

I dunno how to do all that fancy stuff, but I'll see what I can do. int adjust (NodeLst & vAdjs) {| With the cursor at |, and I hit enter, the cursor indents. However, for any other {, the cursor does not indent. I'd like it to be consistent and not indent when I'm hitting enter to start coding the ...

3.96b

I've just installed 3.96b share-ware version. I still need to buy the full upgrade. Since I last bought Zeus a great many moons ago I'm not sure about the procedure. I assume just go through the normal RegNet thingy? http://www.zeusedit.com/purchase.html At any rate, I've done some poking around and...

Regex

Fast is good. I like fast. But useful is also good. I got teethed on the Brief RegEx and although I don't know how well it worked, it did two things that I *REALLY* used a lot: 1) "\n" matched the end of a line. I'm working with code and there's a lot of line ends that sometimes I need to find. 2) B...

Bookmarking

How come when I split the screen (F3), and then unsplit it (F3 again or F4) all my bookmarks are erased? Or at least when I'm in the bottom window I notice this happening. It's all the same file.

Smart Ident

Sweet! It looks like 3.96 is out. I guess I need to upgrade to that one. Does the patch work with the evaluation version? Is Smart Indent still the same as the changed one, not how it worked before? I've been finding it real difficult to work with my cursor changing positions whenever I hit Enter. I...

3.95z

What sort of changes should I be looking for in 3.95z v2? The history.txt file seems a bit out-of-date.

Fix

Cool. I like how fast you get bugs fixed. *SO* much better than practically any other piece of software that I use!

Found another interesting thing. Try typing this into a Java or C++ program:

/// Playing the bet {0-9}NNN.

What happens?

Well, I suppose that's an okay fix. I just wasn't planning on having to edit all my macros to fix the auto indent. I think the fix I'll have to settle for is just making sure that the cursor is right over on the left and that there's a couple blank lines underneath where I want to insert stuff. That...

COBOL?

COBOL??

Zeus is being used as a COBOL editor? COOL! You should keep a list of all the languages that Zeus has been used for. Although you've got pretty much most of them available for writing macros too, don't you? :)

Installer

What's the consequences of just copying the entire Zeus directory over to the new machine (maybe without the zBackup contents)? Setting up a desktop icon is easy enough to do and there won't be a Start Menu entry (not that I personally care for that). Is there anything else vitally important (regist...

I am not exactly sure what you mean. The MoveLineHome should not do any smart indenting :? - It doesn't, but any \n printed *DO* do the smart indenting. Have you got a simple macro that illustrates this problem :?: - Yup! function key_macro() MoveLineHome() print ("*\n") print ("**\n") print ("***\n...

What's the equivalent of
MoveLineHome ()
where it *DOESN'T* do the "smart" indenting? I've been running macros with that in it to put stuff right at the left-hand edge, but if there's an indented line below where I'm working then it all gets indented, which of course isn't what I wanted.
What probably should have happened is Zeus should have done smart bracing and positioned the brace to match the indentation of the matching brace :?)
Maybe that would do it. It would just be a matter of finding the closing brace at the end of the function I guess. Here's another one. ...
