Hi Jussi,

it would be great if i the user could move the open file tabs to other positions, so that they don't stay in the order the file where opened. would imho improve usability if you have a huge amount of files opened at the same time .

example:

i open the following files:

1.txt
3.txt
5.txt
2.txt
4.txt

the tabs are in the order of:

1.txt|3.txt|5.txt|2.txt|4.txt

now it would be great if i can move the tabs to rearrange them to something like:

1.txt|2.txt|3.txt|4.txt|5.txt

Bye, Egon

I think this is a good idea and it should be easy enough to implement. The hardest part is deciding where to put the feature in terms of the user interface.

For example one method would be to use a drag and drop along the tab bar.

Another option is to add move up and move down options to the popup menu in the Files section of the navigator.

Yet another might be to add the move up and move down options to one of the main menus possible the Window menu.

I suspect all three of these options should be implemented.

Do you have any alternative suggestions as to what the user interface should be :?:
example:

the tabs are in the order of:

1.txt|3.txt|5.txt|2.txt|4.txt

now it would be great if i can move the tabs to rearrange them to something like:

1.txt|2.txt|3.txt|4.txt|5.txt
Strictly speaking this is possible in current version of Zeus. If you use the View, Document List menu and then hit the Sort button you will get the required tab order.

But I understand what your example was trying to show :)
