Is there a Document Type for Googles new Go language? It's very C-like so I'm gonna try just using the C/C++ one, but I was wondering if there was already an "official" one. Thanks.

Hi Alan,
Is there a Document Type for Googles new Go language?

There is no "official" version at present, but don't forget Zeus can import Textpad and EditPlus keyword files, so for example you could download this this EditPlus keyword files.

To use this file create a new document type and then in the use this file using the Import button found on the Keywords panel of the document type to import the syntax file ;)
It's very C-like so I'm gonna try just using the C/C++ one
You should also edit the xfolder.ini found in the Zeus install directory and add an entry for the Go language, so that the code folding also works ;)

Okay, I think I've done all that. I'll have to work with it some more to see what's not working but so far everything is tickety-boo!

Well, except the Go language itself, but that's a whole *other* rant! :)

Thanks so much. It's amazing how easy it is to make Zeus "just work". Any other out-of-the-box software and I'd have to wait *ages* for the "official" release.

Thanks so much for a wonderful editor!

Hi Alan,

It's good to see you're up and running with the Go language. If you find something missing from Zeus or have any suggestions on how it could be improved, don't hesitate to post a suggestion.
Thanks so much for a wonderful editor!

Thanks :)

When I compare the current Zeus version to one of the first versions from many years ago, it its quite amazing how much it has changed and how much better its has become.

I owe that improvement to the many Zeus users (like yourself) who have offer their valuable feedback on ways to improve Zeus, for languages I've never used and sometimes languages I've never even heard of.

Thanks to those users, Zeus is the language neutral IDE that it is today :)

The latest version of Zeus comes with support for the Go language straight out of the box.

You can now build, run and format Go files all from within the editor.
