Zeus IDE

Mac McDonald had some nice things to say about Zeus:

I think the highest praise that you can give an editor is that it is
'comfortable' and Zeus is certainly that for me. My fingers just 'know' how
to use it.

I used Brief as long as it was available and when it was discontinued, I
switched to Emacs with a Brief emulator that I tweaked until it was
workable. That was fine as long as I was working in C++, Java, or Perl, but
the jumble that is PHP/HTML really causes problems.

I never thought that I could find an editor that would give me the mixture
of Brief and Emacs commands that I know and love. Zeus did it!

i have literally spent the last 3 or 4 days doing nothing but download, install, try, uninstall IDE/editor after ide/editor after ide/editor. I stopped downloading and installing and stopped uninstaling after installing this one. I have not quite finished evaluating but things are looking REAL GOOD here.

There are two things i always insist (psychotically insist on even) an editor has. 1 is virtual spaces, the other is a block cursor. while this editor does not support a block cursor (yet?) it does support virtual spaces. it ALSO supports the forth programming language to a degree (thou its slightly iffy with its support at least they did not toally ignore the language :)

The price is also not excessive (unlike CodeW**** blanked out to protect the guilty :) which has always ALWAYS been the editor i measure all other editors against.

Ahmen. I find it amazing how many modern day editors don't support virtual space.

I just don't get the advantage of having the cursor jumping left an right as you move from line to line.

But the truth is with a bit of tweaking Zeus can also be made to work in non virtual space mode.

I am hoping that with your help this support for Forth can be greatly improved.

I think the price is fair.

Also, I like to think that the level of support for Zeus is better than average, which isn't bad considering the support free.
