I have found the concept of multiple 'yank' buffers very useful -- or multiple scraps -- as they exist in both vim and jedit.
I prefer the vim method : yank / cut to buffer 'a'... 'z'
paste from buffer 'a'
instead of how I remember the codewright version of multiple scraps (too much mouse work -- I don't like using the mouse

(also a mechanism to see what is in each buffer:).
just a thought for when you run out of things to do
