To have Agent SVN access a http repository, you just need set the location of the http repository in the Agent SVN configuration utility.
I was wondering if it's possible to access via http an SVN repository that requires user authentication.
Yes.

What should happen is the Subversion request will fail with an access denied error.

At that point Agent SVN will prompt for a user ID and password and then repeat the failed request with the user authentication details provided.

I am not getting any request window for user, password. I have created repository using Visual SVN Server Manager and then gave the details in AgentSVN configuration details window. It shows me E170001, authorization failed, rejected basic challenge.

Could you please try the pre-release version of Agent SVN found here: http://www.zeusedit.com/agent/bin/asvn-v227.zip

This version fixes another issue with authentication and https reported by other users.

If you find any issue post another message or fell free to send me an e-mail.

Cheers Jussi

found same E170001 Error again

To help identify the issue could you please do the following:

1) Start the Agent SVN configuration tool.

2) Turn on the Help debug the SVN configuration with extra logging option.

3) Start your IDE to replicate the issue you described earlier.

4) Go back to the Agent SVN configuration tool and use the ... button to acces the log file produced and send it to the e-mail address at the bottom of this posting.

The log file should help me determine what has gone wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers Jussi

I got this listed in log file when I clicked on Apply in configuration tool by setting the https: protocol repository path.

The section of the log file that you posted contains no errors.

You need to examing the contents of the log file after you produce the error message.

Thanks for your great support :)

I opened configuration detail and checked the debug log (fourth checkbox)and then apply -> close. Reopened the configuration details, gave the https: protocol path for repository and other details and clicked on Apply. I got the pop one I mentioned in above link. I clicked on Ok and sent you the log generated.

Please let me know if I am doing it correct :(

In producing this log file did you reproduce the authentication error message dialog :?:

From the log details you posted above that does not appear to be the case since there are no errors :(

All the errors and message boxes are written to the log file and I can't see any error message in the log you posted :(
