ALT-C Paste Suggestion

Post by Rat »

Currently when I copy and paste in column mode (with BriefEx Key Mapping), the caret positions itself after the selected text. In Brief/CodeWright it positions itself before the selected text and on the following line. This is a particularly useful feature when cutting and pasting the same column copied text many times, (something I do a lot of).

I would expect this to be the correct behaviour when copying and pasting column selected text and the current behaviour for normally, (ALT-M in BriefEx), copied and pasted text.

Use the Options, Editor Options menu and in the General section tick the Brief column paste mode option.

Thanks Jussi... I must have stared at that page for 5mins and still didn't see the option!

I've noticed that the "Brief column paste mode" moves the caret to the next line after a paste even when the copy was not done via a column copy action, (i.e. ALT-M or a word double-click). Is this intentional? I would certainly prefer that the Brief column paste mode only be enforced after the original copy action was done as a column copy.

The latest beta version 7 has change the "Brief column paste mode" to now only work for column marking mode.

This latest version can be found here: http://www.zeusedit.com/zforum/viewforum.php?f=6
