controlling explorer tool

Post by abushne »

Is there a way for me to customize the explorer tool (short of creating my own clone of it..) to change what directory etc, it comes in. I find it handy in textpad (www.textpad.com) that its explorer tool launches in the directory of the currently active document. It also might be nice to default to the current active project/workspace if no document is open, and behave as it does now if no workspace is open.

By explorer I assume you mean the Zeus drives panel in the navigator window. Currently Zeus does nothign special when it comes to this panel :(

But I assume it could be changed to save its current open state in the workspace or the ini file of maybe a keyboard function added to search for the folder of of the currently active document.

Are these the sort of features you are taliking about :?:

I am sorry I was not clear. I was referring to the explorer menu item in the tools menu. This seems to act the same as if I click on "My computer" on my desktop and opens Windows Explorer, but starting at the top of my computer. I would like to have a way to control what directory it opens up in etc... So for example, if I have a file open when I launch this tool, explorer starts up in the current directory of the document. I probably could set up my own tool/macro to do this (now that I think) but was wondering if it made sense to make the default explorer tool behave this way.

It is very easy to achieve this result :)

Uses the Options, Default Document Type menu, go to the Tools section, edit the Explorer item and add the "$fdd" macro tag to the program arguments.
