Marking columns

Post by mmiller »

Just downloaded and have looked at Online Help.

I want to mark columns as in Brief. Alt-C is not working. Do I have to turn something on first?

The Alt+C in Zeus should be working. But you do need to make sure the Brief keyboard mapping is active, by using the Options, Editor Options menu and changing to the Keyboard section.

I have the Brief keyboard mapping active but it still doesn't work. When I attempt to use Alt+C, I see the Windows Menu Items become active indicating that the window is still using the Alt shortcuts.

Use the Options, Editor Options menu, edit the Brief or BriefEx keyboard mappings and bind the MarkColumnToggle keyboard function to the Alt+C key combination.

Brief is currently the active keymap and when I edit the Brief keymap Alt+A and Alt+C are already listed in the "Currently assigned" list for MarkColumnToggle. Is this working for you?
Thanks

It is working fine for me :?

How are you placing the mark :?:

For example to mark one character this what you need to do:
  1. Press and hold down the Alt key
  2. Press the C key while the Alt key is down
  3. Use the right arrow to move the cursor one character to the left
