I just changed to version 3.97y Beta3. I'm sure you hate feedback like this, but I really miss that you removed the split vert/Hoz entries from the right click menu in the document window. I use it all the time.

Thanks for the help. Your solution doesn't fix the problem 100%, but it is so much better and very usable now. It still stops a prototypes of functions which is a very minor issue.

The procedure does work for upgrading a win7 system. It doesn't work to move the config from xp to win7. I just took the few hours to manually configure the win7 system.

On further investigation, it looks like a little of my configuration made it. The ftp configuration, the panes available in the navigator window, and the help config are present. None of my templates, customization of files types, tools, etc are present.

2) patched the install to version 3.97n-beta16 by copying the patch files to program ...

I believe I found a bug in version 3.97-beta16. In a cpp file, any line which contains the string"error" or "warning" ( upper or lower case) does not color any words which should be colored ( reserved words, etc) and the matching brace indicators also don't work.

Your were correct, the virgin install does not have this problem. Instead of copying the zConfig folder over the new installation like I always have done, I manually configured the new install ( you greatly improved the default color selections so I didn't mind doing this work).
